Why buy a microscope on ebay that the seller doesnt know what they have? You risk recieving broken parts or a microscope that YOU have to spend more money to search, locate and attempt to install parts.
WE ALREADY DID ALL THE WORK FOR YOU!
I've been in the microscope service, repair and calibration industry for over 20 years servicing all brands of microscopes from Olympus, Bausch & Lomb, B&L, AO, Reichert, Leica, Wild, Lomo, Leitz, Swift, Accuscope and more.
I was an Authorized W.E.S.C.O Sales and Service Technician
I was an East Coast LOMO Sales and Service Technician
I was a Nikon Authorized Service Technician
Each microscope also INCLUDES a COPY of the Original Owners manual!
Made in the USA! Solid not PLASTIC!
Since this question has been brought up to us a few times, we will now explain it in more detail:
You may have noticed that we buy a lot of microscopes and microscope parts on Ebay, as well as other locations nearby and worldwide.
We do NOT buy these microscopes and then just "resell" them for a higher price like EVERYONE else on eBay!
    We specialize in
    REFURBISHING microscopes
    ....especially
    AO / American Optical & B&L / Bausch & Lomb.
When we get all of our microscopes and parts together, we take the best parts from each microscope and completely
    REBUILD the microscope
    to the
    original manufactures specifications
. This includes breaking down the entire microscope to the bare gears, making sure that all of the gears are working properly without any skipping, and re-greasing all gears and moving parts. Then we replace or clean all optics including all interior prisms, eyepieces, and objectives. We then rewire the microscope (if necessary) and check all electrical connections.
Then, after we have rebuilt the microscope, we calibrate it to manufactures specifications.
Part of the rebuilding or UPGRADING process of the microscopes that we sell are as follows:
If it has a monocular head, we upgrade it to a BINOCULAR head.
If it has stage "clips", we upgrade it to an X-Y stage assembly.
If it has a mirror, we upgrade it to an illuminated electrical light source.
If objectives are bad, we replace them.
If oculars / eyepieces are bad, we replace them.
If gears are worn or stripped, we replace them.
We take great pride in the rebuilding of our microscopes. Why do we do all of this work?
We firmly believe that most, if not all of the new microscopes on the market today
    have GREAT optics
BUT the bodies or the mechanics are poorly made.........Most of the microscopes are made in third world countries.
They are poorly made and in 99% of them are
made of cheap plastic and delron.
What good is a brand new microscope, even if it has great optics if the mechanics and the body fall apart and break?
In most cases under daily use, these microscope will not even make it to the 5 year warranty that is offered!
    On the other hand, the
    American Optical
and Bausch & Lomb microscopes that we rebuild have been around for more than 30 years and will still be around for another 30 years.
These AO and B&L microscopes are made of hardened steel, cast aluminum and brass
    .
All of them have very little, if any plastic on them.
The bodies of these microscopes will last for many many years with proper care. In rare instances, as with all microscopes, the optics or the objectives may need to be replaced. This is a small cost compared to buying a whole microscope after your current one falls apart.
Check you local hospital, health department, State Laboratory, veterinary hospital or private doctors. 95% of these laboratories still have an AO or B&L microscope in use....Why? because they can always depend that THIS microscope will still work for a long time when their other microscope breaks down.
