    Description

I retired last year after almost 40 years career with almost last 35 years working with Oracle and Sybase, first as a developer and then as a DBA. Always believed in one simple fact - reading every good book on the topic will improve my knowledge and skills. Thus while attending various presentations and few classes I always inquire about best books on the main topics, which where design and performance tunning (obviously back is also another important topic but i learned it by doing.
Now is time to sell my really unique collection of books. Read them all. If you read even half of each book you will know more than 90% of DBAs who are working but never read them.
Collection includes 3 books by Tom Kyte (if you are reading this you most likely heard his name. I attended at least half dozen of his presentations in Boston. One book i incredibly won "Expert Oracle Database Architecture", he had 3 books to give at that presentation and i was one of 3. Second "Effective Oracle by Design" i had with me and he didn't mind signing when I approached him after presentation, he was always very friendly and at one earlier presentation i saw how few people did that and made sure I had his book with me next time).
Here is what is included in my collection:
    1. Tom Kyte "Expert Oracle Database Architecture"
    2. Tom Kyte "Effective Oracle by Design"
    3. Tom Kyte "Expert One-on-One Oracle"
    4. Mark Curry & Peter Corrigan "Oracle Performance Tuning"
    5. Jonathan Lewis "Cost-Based Oracle Fundamentals"
if you have never heard the name of this Brit you can't be working with Oracle long enough.
He probably can tune a worst SQL query ever written.
    6. Christopher Lawson "Oracle Performance Tuning"
    Another performance tuning magician.
7, Kimberly Floss "Oracle SQL Tuning & CBO Internals
    8. Cury Millsap "Optimizing Oracle Performance"
One more amazing book on performance tuning.
You probably have no idea how important the server environment is to Oracle performance is.
Last of 3 Musketeers of Oracle performance tuning in my library.
    9. Robin Schumacher "Oracle Performance Troubleshooting"
    10. Dave Moore "Oracle Utilities"
    11. Sharon Allen "Data Modeling for Everyone"
You probably didn't realize that the best performing databases are so because schemas were correctly designed.
    12. Steven Feuerstein "Oracle PL/SQL"
World famous PL/SQL guru. Will change your understanding and your style of your SQL code
    13. Brian Lomasky "Oracle Scripts"
I accidentally worked with this man at one Boston company last 6 months before he left it. (to prove i can provide company name)
His scripts system was very good. Book has CD with them, will save you ton of time.
    14. Andy Duncan "Oracle & Open Source"
    15. Steve Adams "Oracle 8i Internal Services"
Probably the most technical book I've ever read based on # of pages. Not a single line of BS in 116 pages.
You will never find a list of layers in Oracle kernel stack in all Oracle documentation. (I can bet my car on that vs your car).
Steve studied thousands of trace files in order to learn and understand kernel and write this book. Amazing!
    16. 5 pocket books, see photo
I have a couple of Sybase and MS SQL Server and happy to include them if you care to have them but they are for older systems and modern Sybase is very different vs Oracle. I'm sure you are aware that all dictionary tables and views in v12 and 19 are backward compatible to make sure you can upgrade your db. That's why even since v6 and v7 they always had tables with unnamed columns to be used at a later version.
I assure you that all books are in mint condition. I never read them while eating and never bend them (some are too thick to bend them ;-)
I will include a personal note with my contact info, and you are welcome to ask questions after receiving them. I won't promise i will have all answers but promise to respond.
Shipping is free but please if you plan to make an offer be reasonable, don't forget that I will be paying shipping cost.
This library costed me at least 4-5 times more. But the value you will get is much more than that.
One day a potential hiring manager will pay good money for your skills as i was paid.
If you work with Unix/Linux or developer, check my other listing, only Unix/Linux and Expect and SED languages books.
